Research interests
My research sits at the intersection of energy modelling and equity, with a focus on decarbonising the residential sector. I’m interested in how households, shaped by their social, demographic, economic and dwelling characteristics, use energy differently, and how those differences should inform policy. Using Bayesian and urban-scale modelling frameworks, I build frameworks to uncover opportunities for decarbonisation at the household scale, and test how retrofit and decarbonisation policies play out across household types. My current work applies this lens to evaluate the distributional impacts of UK residential retrofit policy, asking who benefits and who risks being left behind by these policies.
Background
I am a PhD candidate in Engineering at the University of Cambridge, funded by the Gates Cambridge Scholarship. Before starting my PhD, I completed an MPhil in Energy Technologies at Cambridge, with a dissertation on balancing energy efficiency and occupant comfort in heritage buildings. I hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria. Between degrees, I worked as a Research Associate at Reeddi Technologies, a clean technology company, where I researched energy needs and product adoption in underserved markets. In 2025, I spent time as a Visiting Student Researcher at the Stanford Urban Informatics Lab, engaging with equity-focused research that has since informed the direction of my PhD work.
